For parents
Is Noctuna free?
Yes. Noctuna is completely free, with no ads and nothing to buy inside the app.
Does it collect any data about my child?
No. Noctuna has no account, no analytics and no servers. Favourites, stories you write and settings stay on the phone.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. All 21 stories and their pictures are inside the app, so it works in flight mode.
Can my child change settings by accident?
The grown-up section is behind a simple maths question that younger children can't answer.
What age is it for?
The stories suit roughly ages 2 to 8, whether an adult reads them aloud or the app does.
Reading and listening
How does the narration work?
Noctuna uses the text-to-speech voices already installed on your phone, so nothing is streamed or downloaded. You can choose a different voice in the player.
Can we just read it ourselves?
Yes. Tap Read yourself for the full text with no narration.
What does the sleep timer do?
It stops the story automatically: at the end of the story, or after 10, 20 or 30 minutes.
Does the screen turn off mid-story?
No. The screen stays awake while a story is playing, and goes back to normal afterwards.
Your own stories
Can we add our own stories?
Yes. Tap Create, give the story a title and text, then pick an emoji, a card colour and a scene. It appears in the library with the rest.
How many can we add?
Up to 100.
Where are they saved?
On your phone only. Nobody else can see them, and they're removed if you uninstall the app.
