Privacy policy

Last updated 18 September 2026. Applies to the Noctuna Android app (com.satheesh.noctuna) and this website.

In short: Noctuna does not collect, upload or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your phone, and only you can see it.

1. Information the app stores

Noctuna stores only what you create inside the app:

All of it is saved in the app's local storage on the device. It is never sent to the developer, a server, a cloud service or any third party.

2. No personal information is asked for

Noctuna asks for no name, no email address, no date of birth and no sign-up. It has no account system at all, and no way to identify a child or an adult using it.

3. Children's privacy

Noctuna is made for young children and follows the strictest interpretation of children's privacy rules: it collects nothing.

There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, no in-app purchase and no social feature. Because no information is collected from anyone, none can be shared, sold or used to build a profile.

4. Narration and the internet

Story narration uses the text-to-speech voices already installed on the device, handled by Android itself. Noctuna sends no text to any online service for this.

Every story and picture is bundled inside the app, so it works with no internet connection. When the phone is online, the app may load its fonts from Google Fonts, and the link to the developer's other apps opens Google Play.

5. The grown-up section

Settings and developer links sit behind a simple maths question, so younger children don't reach them by accident. It is a convenience for parents, not a security feature.

6. Permissions

Noctuna asks for no sensitive permissions. It does not use the camera, microphone, contacts, location, files or notifications. It keeps the screen awake while a story plays, which needs no permission from you.

7. Keeping and deleting data

Favourites, your own stories and settings stay on the device for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling Noctuna permanently deletes all of it. Because there is no account or server, no copy exists anywhere else.

8. This website

This website doesn't use forms or accounts. It may use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed and clicks. That information is not linked to the app or to anything you enter in it. See the Microsoft privacy statement.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
