Getting started
Open the app and tap any card to start a story. The reading time on each card tells you how long it runs when read aloud.
Tap the heart on a card to keep it in Favourites, which is useful for the two or three they ask for every night.
The narration isn't playing
Noctuna uses your phone's own text-to-speech voices. If nothing plays:
- Check that the phone isn't on silent, and turn the volume up.
- Open Android Settings → Accessibility → Text-to-speech output and confirm a speech engine and a language are installed.
- Back in Noctuna, open the Voice list in the player and pick a different voice.
You can always tap Read yourself and read the story aloud instead.
Using the sleep timer
Tap the clock icon at the top of a story, then choose when it should stop: at the end of the story, or after 10, 20 or 30 minutes. Choose Off to turn it off again.
Delete your data
Noctuna has no account and no servers, so everything lives on your phone: favourites, stories you wrote and settings.
Uninstalling the app removes all of it permanently. Stories you wrote yourself can also be deleted one at a time in the Create section.
